Apparently some black holes have spontaneous outbursts. I guess that is the kind of black hole this blogger fell into for the last few weeks. Here I am again, bursting out!
It has been a hectic month for RelyLocal. The biggest news is the launch of RelyLocal 2.0! Our new website is bigger, better and just more awesome. It includes cool features like a free community events calendar. Anyone in the community can post events and we hope that you will check it out regularly.
We also had our inaugural First Monday event. This is a free networking mixer for any High Desert businesspeople who want to meet other professionals and do some business. About thirty people attended this first event at Carpet Club in Victorville. The next event is at Salon Diva on April 4th and everyone who wants to network is welcome to attend. There will be free appetizers and beverages, as well as prizes for a business card drawing. Bring friends or colleagues too!
Finally we’ve started working Sundays (no rest for the wicked!) at the new Tommy Diamond’s Festival Market. Held at independent restaurant Franky’s Diner, this market has a number of interesting vendors. It is only a few weeks old, so it is growing every week. RelyLocal has an information table, spreading the word about buying locally one person at a time. We are also recruiting people to join our Relay for Life team or make donations in honor of loved ones who have battled cancer.
Don’t worry, though. More local business interviews will be coming to you starting on Monday, as well as articles on High Desert happenings and social media strategies.
