Part of my passion for supporting local business is my life long desire to learn more about how business works. Interpersonal communication, organizational dynamics, innovative ideas, proven techniques – I relish taking all that information in and applying it to whatever is in front of me.

Throughout my education (both formal and informal) one person has provided me with significant inspiration and insight. I found this archived article from Inc. Magazine that shares 26 tidbits from Peter Drucker.

If you’ve never had the opportunity to read the groundbreaking stuff he wrote from the 1940s on, I highly recommend checking it out. As the article says, some of it seems so obvious now, but it is only because he was so darn sensible way back in the day.

Who have you learned from? What thinkers have influenced the way you handle your business or work as part of an organization?

  1. Not enough sense in business suggests businessmen should go out and find some…such things as pronouncements on customers, marketing, and profitability, that deserve to be framed and hung in every corner of the office to remind business leaders where their priorities should lie… It’s a marvel that business people just keep on going without it…they can’t know any better!
