The holiday are coming up quickly and I am starting to think about shopping for loved ones. I know that amongst RelyLocal’s members we have a number of High Desert businesses that might contain a gift or two for those on my list. From massage gift certificates to children’s holiday wear to fine cigars, there is something for everyone.
I’m also thinking about how we shop for the holidays. There is an organization called The 3/50 Project suggests patronizing 3 independent merchants and spending $50 a month (total) at these places. I think that is a good idea to jump from.
How about this – what if we challenge ourselves, here in the High Desert, to visit at least three locally-owned businesses to check off some of their holiday shopping list before we hit the big box stores or start clicking online?
And I’d love to hear from you – what great gifts have you found in locally-owned businesses? Who has your go-to gifts?
