Spotlight: Active Care Chiropractic and Dr. Sara in Victorville, CA

For doctors, the personal relationship with their patients is the foundation for a successful practice. Dr. Sara Griffin, owner of Active Care Chiropractic in Victorville understands this and has built her business on this truth. “I run my business like I run my life,” she explained to me recently. “The Golden Rule: Treat others as you’d like to be treated.”

Dr. Sara, as her patients call her, gets to know people by conducting informative seminars, doing public speaking and meeting them one on one at events in the community. This allows new patients to feel comfortable with her, trusting that she is interested in their total wellness. Her goal is to have them feel like family and to be at home even when in the office. And it truly is a family affair; she, her husband and their family built out the inside themselves, creating a clean, comfortable space that takes the anxiety out of a medical visit.

I asked Dr. Sara about her thoughts on running a business, especially in light of economic challenges. “People are missing the boat,” she said. “You have to give more for less. But the tide will turn. Attitude is everything. If you believe that business is bad, then it will be bad.” With so many business owners moaning about how hard they have to work, Dr. Sara shared, “If you started your business when things were booming, then yes, it feels like the world is ending. But its not! I may have to work harder right now, but when things turn around I’ll be more successful.”

Like many people, Dr. Sara and her husband chose to live in Victorville because it offered great value for their money. Instead of being house-poor, they are able to invest in their business and enjoy the amenities without the congestion of big city life. And the central location of Victorville gives them access to mountains, beach, desert and everything in between in a day trip. As a business owner, Victorville also offers low overhead and room to grow. In fact, she specifically located on the west side of I-15 in order to meet the chiropractic needs of Victorville, Adelanto, Silver Lakes, Phelan and Helendale.

Her advice to other business owners in Victorville? Focus on customer service. She and her husband were looking for a truck, ready to buy, but couldn’t get anyone to call them back! Simple opportunities like this should not be missed by any business seeking to grow. In her experience, Victorville as a community does a good job of supporting their local businesses and it gives a large city a close-knit feel. It is up to the business owners to reach out to customers and make them feel welcome, keeping their business here instead of heading down the hill. And to everyone who lives here, she encourages them to get out of their routine once in a while and try a locally-owned restaurant, shop or service that is new to them.

If you are considering chiropractic services, Active Care Chiropractic has a low-cost spinal decompression. This is great for people with chronic back pain, extremity pain or bulging discs. They also specialize in services for pregnant women and have therapeutic massage located in the same office.

  1. Dr. Sara is great, met her when she worked in my moms office (name withheld ;)). She was great with my daughter who has a messed up neck from an accident when she was younger.
